First ballot - wrong figures?

The figures from the first ballot are at odds with those reported in the Glasgow Herald at the time - it would indicate Foot has 110 votes and Short was ahead by 1. [1] Not sure where the figures here have come from, but the 89 for Foot would seem to be wrong (and thus the percentage figures will be too). I will look to see if I can get a second source to confirm. Dunarc ( talk) 23:53, 23 March 2021 (UTC) reply

I have found that Butler's British Political Facts (2018_gives the 111, 89, 61 vote figures [2] cited here, so perhaps the Glasgow Herald was wrong. That said Labour had over 280 MPs at the time, so over 20 cannot have voted if these figures are correct.
