"The kickoff for the Rose Bowl was originally scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on January 1, 1924, but the night before the game, a meeting of the Rose Bowl organization rescheduled the kickoff time to 2:16 p.m. the same day." They only delayed the game by sixteen minutes? (pinging A Texas Historian) Ed  [talk]  [majestic titan] 10:11, 7 December 2014 (UTC) reply

Sorry about the long response time, I had to find the source again. But yes, that's what the article said. A change of sixteen minutes makes little sense to me, but that's apparently what happened. - A Texas Historian ( Talk to me) 13:57, 11 December 2014 (UTC) reply

Aftermath - 8-1-1 was not the second best in UW up to that point

The statement, "The tie gave Washington an 8–1–1 record for the 1923 season, the second best in school history up to that point," is inaccurate. The referenced site only goes back to 1916, which was the last year of the very successful Gilmore Dobie (58-0-3 at UW). Dobie coached 6 undefeated and untied seasons (1909, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913 and 1915) and 3 undefeated seasons (1908, 1914 and 1916). So, at best the 1923 season would be have been the 10th best in school history up to that point. Jeff.jay.dahlin ( talk) 06:19, 4 March 2023 (UTC) reply
