A defender, [2] Chathunni played for Kerala and Goa.
Chathunni managed most football clubs in India like Kochin, [3] Dempo, [4] Salgaocar, Mohun Bagan, Churchill Brothers, [5] Chirag United Club Kerala, [6] Josco and others. [7] [8] He was the coach for various clubs in the National Football League from 1997–98. [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] He represented both Kerala and Goa in the Santosh Trophy. [14]
Chathunni died on 12 June 2024, at a private hospital in Karukutty, Ernakulam succumbing to cancer. He was 80. [15] [16]
