Sam Snead
This article is more comprehensive on how Snead's 82 total was arrived at. Beman fails to mention that Snead was a pioneer of the game in the US, including winning $600 for the 1946 Open Championship (which did not cover expenses and why he didn't go back). Beman also goes way overboard in the goat discussion (there are much better articles for that discussion... not appropriate here).

talk) The point is is that it's an opinion. Granted Woods had an incredible 11 year run 1997-2008 and then another major in 2019. Nicklaus has 3 more professional majors (a career for many at the highest level of the game). His performance over time can be argued to be twice as good. Reference your article of Tiger's Wiki if you like is so much. It's not appropriate here. Stick to the facts.Tag: Undo

talk) It's not a fair assessment. Beman furthermore says that Tiger was the best tour player ever! Most people use majors as the barometer for that claim. Not only does Nicklaus have more major victories, Nicklaus has 2.5x more 2nd's and 2x more top 10s in majors. Like I said, let's just stick to the facts.Tags: UndoReverted

This is an article about Sam Snead not Tiger Woods. FYI. Sam Snead won 0 modern day PGA Tour events but was given credit for 82 of them. Stop trying to compare someone who came from nothing to someone that had everything.Tag: Reverted

Let's keep in mind that Snead never won any PGA Tour events. It did not exist in his prime. Gary Player has surpassed many of Snead's longevity records.
