Found a cite that the first Beastie Boys show was in fact on MCA's 17th birthday in 1981. Weirdly, the last.fm profile of the band says they started in 79 and he joined in 81, but he founded the band. I think last.fm is wrong there.

Fixed typo and restored some information removed recently by anonymous account with no summary. Same person recently changed his music career dates to start in 81 instead of 79. I set it to 80 in line with Beastie Boys. Someone check.

Restored page to the version before the unnecessary reference added on August 19th (the edit just previous to mine (which removed the unnecessary reference) also apparently removed article content)

CNN didn't actually say he was an American - oops (another source said he did, but only that source, and since it's a developing story, may as well leave this out)
