"Parachute Infantry Regiment" is an obsolete designation dropped by the Army in the late 1940s, prior to the general being born. This particular unit was designated as the "2d Battalion (Abn), 504th Infantry." The term Regiment wasn't reinstated until 2015 during an Army-wide redesignation of combat units. Corrected the designation of the 52d Ordnance Group and corrected "deactivated" to "inactivated." Explosives and electrical lines are deactivated, while units are inactivated.

"1st Air Cavalry Division" was an unofficial nickname while the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) was the actual designation given by the US Army. Parenthetical designations, such as Airborne, Airmobile, Mechanized, etc., are not tracked by the US Army Center of Military History, but this link shows the division never had the official designation of "1st Air Cavalry Division." https://history.army.mil/html/forcestruc/lineages/branches/div/001cd_hqhqbn.htm

94th Infantry Division (United States)
The 94th MP Co did not serve in Vietnam and has no Vietnam battle honors. It is possible that individual members were mobilized from reserve status and sent to serve in other units in Vietnam but the 94th MP Co itself was not in Vietnam. Additionally, the 94th MP Co only carries the lineage of that unit, not the 94th Inf Div. See: https://history.army.mil/html/forcestruc/lineages/branches/mp/0094mpco.htm

The 1st Cav Div ended its Airmobile era with the departure of its 3d Brigade from Vietnam in 1972. It colors were then used to reflag an armored division. The 101st has been reorganized as a light infantry division, and today "air assault," the current term for airmobile, is an "Additional Skill Identifier" for graduates of the Air Assault course, not a type of unit.

"Medium Tank" was an obsolete term by the time Patton served in this battalion. Also, the term "regiment" ceased to be used after the force reorganization of the late 1950s until 2005.

177th Armored Brigade (United States)
From the end of the era of tactical infantry regiments (late 1950s) until 2005, combat arms unit designations did not include the term "regiment." Also, a previous designation was "34th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, Mechanized," not to be confused with the "34th Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop, Mechanized" of the 34th Infantry Division. The squadron was active briefly from 4 Jan 44 to 3 Mar 45 at Fort Jackson, SC, and then Fort Riley, KS. It did not deploy overseas with the 34th Inf Div.
