Capacitance
Why does everybody want to complicate something so simple right out of the blocks. The topic sentence needs to state what the actual phenomenon of capacitance is before introducing more complex notions. This one, more or less, straight out an electrical engineering text book. Rub a glass rod with a piece of cloth and it acquires an electrical charge. The glass rod has capacitance which allows it to do so without any visible sign of the amount of charge or the voltage.Tag: Reverted

Stop sign
Not a valid example. In that example, the use of the STOP sign (in connection with an associated GO sign) does not have the backing of any legislation for the locations given (unlike temporary traffic lights). It relies entirely on the good will of motorists who can legally ignore it. Also, if it did have backing, then the option of passing the sign if the road is clear would not be not available as the rest of the sentence claims.

Simplify the sentence. Also: at least rationalise the terminology in the caption, even though the article itself has the inevitable mixture of English and American.

→Type L: It is compatible, but only because the tolerances of the 10 Amp type L allow it to fit. If the socket was its absolutely correct size, the Europlug's pins are 0.4 mm too close together.

→Type L: Though the pins would be splayed when inserted, the geometry dictates that the pins would still have some convergence. The issue is academic anyway, the plug fits!
