Sylvia (ballet)
→Choreography: The idea that Mérante's "Sylvia" was the first ballet to feature women as "masculine hunters" is absurd- I have no idea where the author of the article cited got such a notion. Having bow and arrow and even rifle carrying ballerinas was common in the 19th century. This section on choreography needs to be rewritten- the language is far to opinionated for an encyclopedia and the writing is juvenile.Tags: Mobile editMobile web edit
