Anesthesiology
→Training: Moved the information in "Terminology" into the "Training" section. I recognize that this is not a perfect fit, but because the comparison/contrast of the field of anesthesiology in various parts of the world is contained in this section, I felt it provided the BEST fit. There is no "Terminology" section in the Wikipedia Manual of Style for medical specialties, so I am going to omit that section entirely.Tag: Visual edit

→Argentina: Added the organization that is in charge of directing the training of anesthesiologists in Argentina, but unfortunately I can not find any information regarding specifics about the training (length, content, etc.).Tag: Visual edit

Anesthesiology
→Terminology: I moved a good amount of the information contained in this section into the History section because if you look at the Wikipedia Manual of Style for Medicine-related articles, Medical Specialty articles are not supposed to include a Terminology section. The remainder of the information in that section will likely need to be absorbed by the "Training" section, but I am not quite ready to move it over to there yet.Tag: Visual edit

Anesthesiology
→Terminology: I added details regarding the coining of the term "anesthesia" and offered some more references for that. I took out a few details that I thought were extraneous. I made a few copy-editing changes, and rearranged some information contained in the bullet points regarding the different terms used in different countries. Honestly, I think a lot of these specifics seem a bit unnecessary, but I don't want to make too many changes by cutting so much out so I left it.Tag: Visual edit

Anesthesiology
Reworded the first sentence of the second paragraph in order to better reflect what anesthesiology is based on the current ABA definition. I also tried to make it easier to understand to those unfamiliar with the term "anesthesia". Added "hospice and palliative care" to the list of ancillary jobs an anesthesiologist can do.Tag: Visual edit

Anesthesiology
Clarified some of the early history of general anesthesia, and provided more information regarding "Ether Day" which many consider the birthdate of the modern practice of anesthesiology. These edits give further context to the pictures that I also added. The third paragraph under "History" at present I believe belongs in "Scope" and I have plans to move it when I get a chance. I do think that I need to include some citations in the first paragraph and will add them soon.Tag: Visual edit

→History: Added two pictures, one of Robert C. Hinckley's painting depicting Ether Day, and the other of a replica of Dr. Morton's original ether inhaler. I will plan to provide more details about these pictures within the "History" section in coming editsTag: Visual edit
