  • 23:55 23:55, 6 March 2018 diff hist −241 Arthur GorrieRemoved proposed deletion notice for lack of notability. Strongly disagree with that. Arthur Gorrie meets notablility criteria in many ways. 1. Prominent business person who did much to foster interest in hobbies. 2. Heavily involved in the Model Aeronautical Association of Australia, he was inducted into their Hall of Fame. 3. Very involved in Toastmasters, made a Distinguished Toastmaster 1979 and Toastmaster of the Year on 8 occasions. 4. Worked with the Queensland correctional system, where he was involved in support and rehabilitation of prisoners. 5. This work led to him being honoured by having Queenslands largest correctional facility named after him. 6. His final recognition was to be honoured in the Australlia Day Honours List, he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his services to the community. All these points are referenced in the article. Pretty sure all this qualifies him as a "notable person".
