Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen, BWV 56
→1: Translating "kreuzstab" as "cross" is a mistake, the seafaring symbology in this cantata points clearly to the dual meaning of both Jesus' cross, and the navigation instrument, the cross-staff. True translation must be favoured over a poetic translation.

Io (mythology)

talk) I have undone the edit. My update has been backed by relevant souces, good citations, and I think well formulated, and backed by a longer explanation in the talk section. No reason for deletion has been given, so I interpret it as vandalism that it has been deleted.Tag: Undo
