The Very Hungry Caterpillar
removed the criticism section. It is a very poor summary of the research which mischaracterises it. The response to the supposed criticism of the book are rage-bait headlines - no good-faith engagement is present. Having the section here on wikipedia gives far too much emphasis to a paper from one country in which TVHC happened to be included.current

After several hours of research I am absolutely confident that Leslie Watkins was (Died Feb. 2024) a real author who really did write this book. It makes no sense to claim this was a pseudonym, since Ambrose is also credited on the covers and title pages.

I know this page has had (since 2017) a citations needed template, but I added some individual citations needed to the most egregious areas. There are areas of this page that are outright in essay-style territory and need fixing, but I don't think it's bad enough for a template tag atm.

Pyxis (vessel)
got rid of the caps for 'globular pyxis' and changed all the bolds that were being used to introduce news terms to italics as per wikipedia's style guide.

removed a duplicate name, shifted another name into the list, and moved the derivative forms sentence to above the list (since the list itself contains many of those).Tags: Mobile editMobile web edit

→Relations with the Chinese: deleted a duplicate footnote, but the footnotes are still janky. 9 citations for a quote? It's a translation. I presume it comes from only one of the sources given, but I have no idea which, and no idea what the other 8 citations are supposed to be contributing there.

largely re-written. Still needs a lot of work, but does not contain any original research now, and has more cites.Tag: harv-error

Feuermann (ghost)
→Appearance: edited grammar. Removed a part of the description that doesn't really work in English, and is from a "call" for them (: “He, Landsmann, bal raud, bal blau…”) rather than a description of them. In context it seems to be referring to the colours of a torch flickering, and that's covered by all the fiery descriptors anyway.current

Removed graves as a source for ancient greek myth and replaced with the actual sources. Graves should generally be avoided as a source for Greek myth. It is not uncommon to discover that his sources do not say what he claims they say.

→Modern accounts: made the language around Hawass' stories more objective - it was not clear before to the casual reader that everything is self-reported - Hawass himself is the only source. Also removed some irrelevant info about a child being healed which is wholly unrelated to any sort of curse.

One of the sources used for this page was a blog by an undergraduate student; the claims it was cited for were not ones that they provided citations for themselves. I also don't think the material was adding anything to the page, so I removed it. Added some other stuff, added some references. Tidied up some other stuff.
