  • 18:09 18:09, 27 March 2018 diff hist +264 m Tulsa race massacreAs the 3 references show, "Race Riot" is a misleading term, implying blame on both sides, while the events were clearly a 1-sided ethnic cleansing or pogrom against the black community. There is a growing movement to label these events in Tulsa as a pogrom rather than a "race riot," and acceptance of this edit aids the healing process by admitting to Tulsans and people worldwide- this was a pogrom, and we should no longer deny that. My great grandparents were in Tulsa during the 20s and 30s, and my whole family is from there. None of them would disagree that it was a pogrom. I am not suggesting "race riot" be struck from the page here just since it truly is commonly called a "race riot," but this edit is to add what will eventually come to be the widely-accepted term to describe these events.
