Episcopal polity
→Episcopal government in other denominations: All Lutheran churches in America have an episcopal polity in accordance to Article XIV of the Book of Concord. Although more independence to congregations are granted in the LCMS, the structure of church governance is episcopal (Pastor/Priest - Regional President/Bishop - Synod President/Archbishop) and has valid consecration.

Presidents are installed in episcopal manner, along with the role of District President being equivalent of Bishop.
