Bill Cunningham (sportswriter)
Since I've updated the 1921 SMU football page, and the related pages, I wanted to at least have a brief bio on E. W. (Bill) Cunningham, who's at the center of all of these changes. This Wikipedia "holding spot" for this Bill Cunningham was the right place to do that.

SMU Mustangs football
This change with the 1921 SMU season aligns with all of the other changes I've made regarding those various related Wikipedia pages. W. A. Cunningham was never a coach at SMU, as he's been mistaken for E. W. Cunningham, who was the interim head coach (Kelley was never a co-head coach). Please see the other pages for Rix, W. A. Cunningham, 1921 SMU football, Victor Kelly (actually, Kelley) for the other changes to align everything together.

J. Burton Rix
These changes align with changes I've made to entries for 1921 SMU football, W. A. Cunningham, & Victor Kelley (Kelly). Rix only coached the first 2 games in 1921, & was replaced by E. William (Bill) Cunningham (not W. A. Cunningham) for the rest of the season. I've added the correct citation & edited his coaching record to reflect just 2 games in 1921. There is list of "Bill Cunningham" entries in Wikipedia, but this Cunningham's entry is uncreated. He was Boston sportswriter for his career.

Victor Kelly
Victor Kelley was not a co-head coach at SMU in 1921. He remained an assistant when Rix resigned after the second game. E. William (Bill) Cunningham took over as the head coach for the remainder of that season. I've corrected the facts in the 1921 SMU football entry, including the citation that Cunningham was the head coach (and no one else). Also his name is misspelled as "Kelly" on the Wikipedia entry -- don't know how to edit that. It was "Kelley" and his nickname was "Chock."

W. A. Cunningham
W. A. Cunningham was never a coach at SMU. He has been mistaken for E. W. (Bill) Cunningham, who was the caretaker coach for the balance of the 1921 season after Burton Rix resigned after the second game. See my edits and reference in the 1921 SMU Football entry for confirmation.

1921 SMU Mustangs football team
I have corrected the coaching record for the 1921 SMU Mustangs, including the reference of Cunningham being the new (and only) head coach. This also clarifies the fact that W A Cunningham was never a coach at SMU.

Pete Cawthon
I added his two years at Terrill Prep School in Dallas in 1921-22. The citation is the same TSHA citation (#1) already referenced earlier in the page.

Dixie University
How does this look? I think it is more fitting of the encyclopedic style that you are seeking and I certainly agree my first go-round was more of a story. I hope this meets with your approval so that this can blend into Jefferson and Dixie football team articles better. I will also do a short article on Somerville Law to add that context. I also appended the Golden Cyclones Wikipedia article to update its transition to Dixie-that update was approved already. Thank you.

Corrected two citations from Newspapers.com to Newsbank -- not sure why I'd made them Newspapers.com. I have a free subscription to the Dallas Morning News archives via the Dallas Public Library and being a resident of Dallas. All but one of the sources is from the Dallas Morning News. Thank you.

This last section adds information as to the conclusion of the Golden Cyclones' story, with its absorption into Dixie University and its eventual demise within Dixie.

This is the entry for Dixie University to help round out the Jefferson and Dixie football pages. Once this page has been approved, I can edit the teams whose football Wikipedia pages list "Dixie State University" incorrectly as their opponent for these years. Thank you.Tag: Removed redirect

User:BBrooksDallas/sandbox/Dallas Rangers football team
This is the final entry of the football teams associated with Jefferson and Dixie from 1930-1934. This team was the "gap" team between the expulsion from Jefferson to the creation of Dixie. Although it's a limited article, it connects the dots between the two colleges and expands the story of the promoter/coach Nick Dobbs. And of course playing an NFL team is also quite notable for this brief segue from Jefferson to Dixie: thank you.current
