As others have said. Garrido was not really a fascist as he didn't have a lineage to Italian fascism, considered himself a communist and really had not major ideology with fascists. That is just the opinion of some Anglophone scholars. See talk.

Nukekubi
Hearn himself didn't just write the tale in his book, he merely translated a common Japanese tale from a Japanese text. It is more likely that they were called ''Rokurokubi'' there too. In fact, sometimes in Japan Nukekubi are called that
