Unreliable narrator
This is not an example of an unreliable narrator. It's just standard operating procedure in serialized fiction (ESPECIALLY in comic books). "Oh, that major character that was 'killed'? Turns out it wasn't really him, but was just a clone/decoy/duplicate."
