Similar for length of time (GC is the old BAT from the 1970s), neither is the oldest (both have older affiliates), both have built some history. Sub-editing also. Serious lack - nothing on staff, especially academics, management, governance or ownership.

While some found "Ferdie" a bit naive, he and his team were broadly seen as trying to modernise and grow DCU. But their IR skills (ironically), could 'ave been better. And the Dail is the Irish parliament, cutting repetition.
