The ship on the Auckland Rugby Crest is the HMS Rosario, not the Endeavour. From ARU's Brand Guidelines "The ship with three masts (as opposed to the two masted ship on the Auckland Coat of Arms) is a reference to one of the first known games of rugby in Auckland. On June 13th 1880 the HMS Rosario arrived in Auckland and its passengers played a game against an equal number of Auckland citizens, a match that started at 3pm and finished in the dark – with the “Jack Tars” running out victors"Tag: Visual edit
