I'm guessing the original writer thought "The Arctic" had to be closer to the North Pole, or have nothing but snow to live on and seals to try and catch?

While Emma Stone's char was 1/4 Pacific Islander (specifically Hawaiian) that is not ever considered Native American aka First Nations peoples of North American so I deleted this erroneous entry. It might be whitewashing of an indigenous culture but nowhere near North America or to do with the universally accepted definition of "Native Americans". Thank you, Napayshni Black Feather
