Sovetsky District ( Russian: Сове́тский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [5] district ( raion), one of the twenty-eight in Kursk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,150 square kilometers (440 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Kshensky. [1] Population: 16,348 ( 2021 Census); [7] 19,080 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 23,673 ( 2002 Census); [8] 28,252 ( 1989 Soviet census).
