Shuryshkarsky District ( Russian: Шурышкарский райо́н; Khanty: Ӆорвош район, Łorvoš rajon) is an administrative [1] and municipal [5] district ( raion), one of the seven in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of Tyumen Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the autonomous okrug. The area of the district is 54,016 square kilometers (20,856 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Muzhi. [1] Population: 9,814 ( 2010 Census); [3] 9,559 ( 2002 Census); [7] 9,001 ( 1989 Soviet census). [8] The population of Muzhi accounts for 36.8% of the district's total population. [3]
