The Shturm turret is a remotely controlled turret, developed in Ukraine, for light armored vehicles. [1] [2] The turret adds 1,300 kilograms (2,900 lb) to a vehicle's weight. [3] The turret was developed at the Kyiv Armoured Plant, in Kyiv. [4] The turret is armed with a ZTM-1 30mm autocannon, coaxial 7.62 machine gun, smoke grenades, and a launcher for a pair of anti-tank missiles. [5]
A variety of different weapons can be fitted to the vehicle, including manned and unmanned turrets such as the BMP-3 turret. The vehicle has been designed to host large calibre weapons and at IDEX is being displayed with a Ukrainian Shturm 30 mm system.
The vehicle displayed at the show was equipped with a BM-3M Shturm remote-controlled turret developed by the Kyiv Armoured Plant, fitted with a 30 mm cannon, machine gun, automatic grenade launcher, six smoke grenade launchers, and two Bar'er anti-tank guided missile launchers.
The BM-3 "Shturm" turret is armed with a ZTM-1 30 mm automatic gun which can be remotely operated to provide increased soldier protection in hostile environments. There is also two launchers on the right side of the turret for the Barrier anti-tank laser-guided missiles.
