Shtit is a village in the municipality of Svilengrad, in Haskovo Province, in southern Bulgaria. [1] Its current name ( Bulgarian: Щит [ʃtit]) dates to 1934; prior to that, it was known as Skutari ( Greek: Σκούταρι [ˈskutari]).
