Sheryl Ann Sorby is an American mechanical engineer who is a professor of engineering education at the University of Cincinnati [1] and professor emerita of mechanical engineering-engineering mechanics at Michigan Technological University. [2] She was elected a fellow of the American Society for Engineering Education in 2009 and served as its president from 2020 to 2021. Sorby completed a B.S. in civil engineering, a M.S. in engineering mechanics, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering-engineering mechanics from Michigan Technological University.
