Eslamabad-e Gharb ( Persian: اسلامآباد غرب) [a] is a city in the Central District of Eslamabad-e Gharb County, Kermanshah province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district. [4] It is the second largest city in the province and is known for its oak trees. [5]
The city is mainly populated by Kurds. [6]
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 89,430 in 20,956 households. [7] The following census in 2011 counted 94,699 people in 25,673 households. [8] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 90,559 people in 26,503 households. [2]
