Santeh ( Persian: سنته) [3] is a city in, and the capital of Emam District of Saqqez County, Kurdistan province, Iran. [4] It also serves as the administrative center for Emam Rural District. [5] The city is populated by Kurds. [6] It was the capital of Ziviyeh District before the capital was transferred to Saheb. [7]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 860 in 199 households, when it was a village in Emam Rural District of Ziviyeh District. [8] The following census in 2011 counted 945 people in 236 households. [9] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 805 people in 231 households, by which time the rural district had separated from the district in the establishment of Emam District. It was the most populous village in its rural district. [2]
In 2019, the village of Santeh was elevated to the status of a city. [4]
