Samaraditya Pal or Bacchu Pal, [1] (15 December 1938 – 9 March 2023) was an Indian senior advocate and barrister. He was one of the most prominent barristers of the Calcutta High Court. [2] His wife, Ruma Pal, [3] was a justice of the Supreme Court of India. [4]
Pal completed his schooling from St Xavier’s School and passed from Presidency College, Kolkata. He passed LL.B from Calcutta University. Pal acquired his barrister degree from Inner Temple, London. [5] Pal authored books on various subjects of law, which were published by LexisNexis. [6] He had represented several famous cases, [7] amongst them were representing Tata Motors [8] and the Election Commission [9] of West Bengal in Panchayet Poll. [10]
Pal died at age 84 on 9 March 2023 in Kolkata. [11] [12] [13]
