Rodrigo Fabián Araya Moreno (born 8 October 1972) is a Chilean former professional footballer who played as a midfielder for clubs in Indonesia.
Born in Santiago, Chile, [1] Araya came to Indonesia in 1994 and began his career with Persma Manado, [2] where he coincided with his compatriots Juan Rodríguez Rubio [3] and Nelson León Sánchez. [4]
Then he moved to Arema Malang, [5] where he is considered a historical player and captain [1] and coincided with his compatriots Juan and Francisco Rodríguez Rubio, [6] sons of Juan Rodríguez Vega. [7] They are well remembered by the club fans. [8]
He also played for Persijatim Jakarta Timur, [9] PSM Makassar, [10] Persema Malang [11] and Persibom Kotamobagu. [2]
Araya married Indonesian Yanti Manossoh and made his home in Jakarta. They have two children [1] and the first of them was born in Malang. [12]
