Rahmatabad ( Persian: رحمت اباد) [a] is a city in, and the capital of, Rahmatabad District of Rigan County, Kerman province, Iran. [4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 3,615 in 737 households, when it was a village in Rigan Rural District of the former Rigan District of Bam County. [5] The following census in 2011 counted 4,731 people in 1,103 households, [6] by which time the rural district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Rigan County. [7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 5,055 people in 1,307 households. [2]
In 2019, the villages of Abbasabad-e Sardar and Rahmatabad were elevated to the status of cities. [8]
