Putyatinsky District ( Russian: Путя́тинский райо́н) is an administrative [1] and municipal [4] district ( raion), one of the twenty-five in Ryazan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeastern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,008 square kilometers (389 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Putyatino. [2] Population: 7,511 ( 2010 Census); [3] 8,745 ( 2002 Census); [6] 10,398 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of Putyatino accounts for 40.6% of the district's total population. [3]
