Pteron ( Gr. πτερον, " wing") is an architectural term meaning the external colonnade around a building, especially an Ancient Greek temple. [1] The pteroma or peristasis is the passage between the columns and the wall in a temple, [2] the peristyle that in an inward-facing courtyard or garden. [3]
