In Greek mythology, Protomedea or Protomedia ( Ancient Greek: Πρωτομέδεια Prôtomedeia) was one of the 50 Nereids, marine- nymph daughters of the ' Old Man of the Sea' Nereus and the Oceanid Doris. [1] Her name means 'the first ruleress' [2] or 'first queen, first counsel'. [3]
