The village is located on the Seym River, 41 km from the Russia–Ukraine border, 79 km west of Kursk, 15 km north-west of the district center – the town Lgov, 8 km from the selsoviet center – Gustomoy. [7]
Pristen has a warm-summer humid continental climate (Dfb in the Köppen climate classification).
