Preston University, based in Karachi, Kohat, NWFP, Pakistan, and Dubai was established as a School of Business and Commerce in 1984 at Rawalpindi in Pakistan. Preston University celebrates 25 years of dedicated service to this country and this nation. From a humble beginning as a pioneer in private sector higher education, 25 years ago. Preston has grown by leaps and bounds and has emerged as a highly respected institution of higher learning in the country. The mammoth contribution Preston has made towards building the human capital of Pakistan, by imparting top quality education, has been fully acknowledge by the Government of Pakistan. In recognition of its meritorious services, the Government of NWFP and the Government of Sindh has conferred a university charter and degree awarding status on Preston University, Kohat and Preston University, Karachi respectively. The University takes pride in the fact that it has been able to produce and provide more than 50,000 qualified and trained graduates to national, multinational and international organizations both within the country and abroad, since its inception. Preston University has been chartered by the Government of NWFP – through Ordinance No. LII of 2002, is recognized by the Higher Education Commission of the Government of Pakistan, and is duly enlisted in HEC’s website of Recognized and Chartered Public and Private Universities in Pakistan.


Preston University has been chartered by the Government of Sindh – through Sindh Assembly Act passed in 1999, and published as Sindh ACT V of 2004. Preston University, Karachi, is also recognized and accredited by the Higher Education Commission of the Government of Pakistan. [2]

The various faculties of Preston University have a reputation for high quality educational programs. Courses are taught by academic staff and experienced members of the professional community who ensure students gain practical, work-ready skills as well as theoretical and professional training. The University also offers students a flexibility of choice in elective subjects, attendance patterns, and summer session to fast-track their degree programs. The University Offers bachelors and master degrees in Business Administration, Information Technology, Natural & Applied Sciences, Social Sciences and Education. [3]

Preston University provides a variety of financial assistance, according to the needs of the students who are unable to meet the full cost of their education. Preston University also provides a specific scholarship (25% on admission fee and monthly tuition fee) to serving or retired military personnel belonging to Pakistan’s Armed Forces or the Police Department, and to their sons, daughters, or spouses. Scholarships are also provided to Government employees enrolling in our programs. All scholarships are provided after an assessment based on the needs and merit of the applicant. No candidate can claim automatic award of scholarship on any basis. Scholarship once awarded to a student may be cancelled if the student is unable to maintain satisfactory academic performance. [4]

Each campus location of Preston University in Pakistan, has extensive academic facilities including classrooms, computer laboratories, libraries, and abundant space for administrative and teaching staff, common areas for students, canteen etc. All classrooms and major facilities are fully air-conditioned. Modern audiovisual aids, including video equipment, multimedia projectors, slide projectors and overhead projectors are available for the faculty to use in the classrooms. These facilities are also used by the students for making presentations of their research projects and term papers. [5]
