Paul Linger (20 December 1974 – 1 October 2021) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League as a midfielder for Charlton Athletic, [1] Leyton Orient [2] and Brighton & Hove Albion. [3] He went on to play non-League football for clubs including Welling United, Billericay Town, [4] Braintree Town, Purfleet/Thurrock, [5] East Thurrock United, [6] Wingate and Finchley, [7] Chelmsford City, [8] Redbridge, [9] and Dover Athletic. [10]
Linger represented the United Kingdom at the 2005 Maccabiah Games. [11]
On 1 October 2021, Linger died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 46. He was diagnosed with the disease earlier in the year. [12]
