There is only one known species, Parthenice mollis, [5] the annual monsterwort, [6] native to Arizona (Pima, Santa Cruz, + Cochise Counties) [7] and northwestern Mexico ( Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Baja California Sur).
