The Palais du bord de mer ( English: Seaside Palace) is the official residence of the president of Gabon. Located in the capital city of Libreville, it was built in 1977 by President Omar Bongo. [1]

The palace was considered to have been costly and extravagant when it was built in 1977. [3] [4]
The body of Omar Bongo was laid in state at the palace until the state funeral on 16 June 2009. [5] In August 2023, the Gabonese coup d'état was announced at the Presidential Palace. [6]
