- Ostearius melanopygius (O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1880) ( type) – South America. Introduced to Europe, Canary Is., Egypt, Turkey, South Africa, China and New Zealand
- Ostearius muticus Gao, Gao & Zhu, 1994 – China
