Olive Sagapolu (born February 16, 1997) is an American football defensive tackle for the Houston Roughnecks of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football at Wisconsin.
On July 26, 2019, Sagapolu signed with the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). [1] He was waived on August 31. [2]
On December 17, 2019, Sagapolu was signed to the Detroit Lions' practice squad. [3] On December 30, 2019, Sagapolu was signed to a reserve/future contract. [4] On August 27, 2020, Sagapolu was waived by the Lions. [5] He was re-signed four days later but waived again on September 5. [6] [7]
On May 17, 2021, Sagapolu was signed by the Atlanta Falcons. [8] On August 24, the Falcons released Sagapolu. [9]
Sagapolu was selected in the 24th round of the 2022 USFL draft by the Pittsburgh Maulers [10] He was released from his contract on August 14, 2023, to sign with an NFL team. [11]
Sagapolu signed with the Philadelphia Eagles on August 14, 2023. [12] He was released on August 29, 2023. [13]
On October 31, 2023, Sagapolu signed with the New Jersey Generals. [14] The Generals folded when the XFL and USFL merged to create the United Football League (UFL). [15]
On January 5, 2024, Sagapolu was selected by the Houston Roughnecks during the 2024 UFL dispersal draft. [16] He was placed on injured reserve on April 15, 2024. [17]
Sagapolu's uncle Domata Peko played in the NFL and went to Michigan State. Another uncle Tupe Peko played in the NFL and Arena Football League. Sagapolu enjoys swimming in the ocean, playing the ukulele and singing. [18]
