Okhansky District ( Russian: Оха́нский райо́н) is an administrative district ( raion) of Perm Krai, Russia; one of the thirty-three in the krai. [1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Okhansky Municipal District. [4] It is located in the southwest of the krai. The area of the district is 1,516 square kilometers (585 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the town of Okhansk. [1] Population: 16,272 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 17,873 ( 2002 Census); [6] 18,747 ( 1989 Soviet census). [7] The population of Okhansk accounts for 44.6% of the district's total population. [3]
The Kama River is the largest in the district and forms the district's border with Permsky District.
The district was established in December 1923. [2] It was merged into Ochyorsky District on February 1, 1963 but was restored on January 12, 1965. [2]
