Nimal Lanza has a brother, Dayann, who is Mayor of Negombo. [1]
He received his education at St. Maris College, Negombo. [2]
He was elected to parliament representing the Gampaha District at the 2015 parliamentary elections. [3] On 9 September 2015 he was appointed the deputy minister of Home Affairs in the second Sirisena cabinet, but resigned from the role on 19 December 2017. [4] [5]
