Neil Scales OBE is a former British-Australian public servant. He was the Director-General of the Department of Transport & Main Roads, in Queensland having assumed the office in 2013, and serving until June 2023.
Between 1999 and 2012, Scales was Chief Executive Officer and Director-General of Merseytravel in Liverpool. [1]
Scales resigned from Merseytravel in December 2011, to take up an appointment in the Queensland Public Sector. [2] [3] He joined TransLink in Brisbane, Australia, in March 2012 as Chief Executive Officer. [4]
In March 2013, Scales was appointed Director-General of the Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads. He retired in 2023. [5]
Scales was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to transport. [5]
