The National Breast Cancer Foundation is an Australian non-profit organisation funding breast cancer research. It was established in 1994, and has awarded more than $200 million AUD to over 600 research projects across Australia.[ citation needed] It primarily funds research projects studying risk factors, improving quality of life for patients, and developing and improving treatments. Campaigns organized by the organization include its October Pink Ribbon campaign, [2] its June GO PINK campaign, [3] and its August Step Up to Breast Cancer campaign. [4] It also participates in the Mother's Day Classic, [5] a national walk-run held annually on Mother's Day.
