Roman Albertovich Abalin ( Russian: Роман Альбертович Абалин, born January 24, 1998), better known by his screen name NFKRZ [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] (pronounced "no fuckers"), is a Russian YouTuber who is known for his fluent English-language presentations on the city where he lives, Chelyabinsk, Russian history and politics, and the history and architecture of the Soviet Union. Recognized as a relatively outspoken person in Russia, he is often compared to Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. [6] [7]
Abalin releases his self-penned lo-fi hip-hop music on SoundCloud under the pseudonym romaskosmodroma. In the fall of 2021 he moved from Chelyabinsk to St. Petersburg and recorded his video blog in and around St. Petersburg. In February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, and fearing that YouTube would be blocked in Russia or get him in trouble, he left Russia [8] [5] [9] and moved to Tbilisi, Georgia in March [10], and then in 2024, after a number of twists and turns, he received a visa from the European Union and settled in Lisbon, Portugal.
