Music for Zen Meditation is a 1964 album by jazz clarinetist Tony Scott. ^[2]

The album is considered to be the first new-age record. ^[3] Music for Zen Meditation is mostly improvised by Scott, Shinichi Yuize ( koto) and Hōzan Yamamoto ( shakuhachi).

Sampling

The fourth track entitled "After the Snow, the Fragrance" has been sampled by electronic artist Four Tet for his track entitled "Parks", which appeared on his 2001 release, Pause. ^[4]
