Mujibur Rahman was a Bangladesh Navy commodore, ambassador and former President of Bangladesh Cricket Board. [1] [2]

Career

Rahman received training in British Navy and served as a submariner in the Pakistan Navy. [3] He joined the Bangladesh Navy after the Independence of Bangladesh. [3] He served as the Director General of the Department of Shipping. [3] He was the chairman of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation. [3]

Rahman was a member of the Marylebone Cricket Club. [3] In 1979, he was the manager of the Bangladesh national cricket team. [4] He served as the President of Bangladesh Cricket Board from 28 September 1981 to 30 January 1983. [3] [1] Rahman, who was the ambassador of Bangladesh to Libya, was appointed ambassador of Bangladesh to Brazil in 1986. [5] [3]

Death

Rahman died on 27 July 2021 in West Oak Village Long-Term Care Home, Oakville, Ontario, Canada. [3] [6]
