Mrs. is a 2024 Hindi-language official remake of Malayalam-language comedy drama film The Great Indian Kitchen.

The film was directed by Aarti Kadav. It stars Sanya Malhotra in the title role, along with Kanwaljit Singh, and Nishant Dahiya. The film delves into the complex portrayal of a woman who is a trained dancer and dance teacher; but after marriage has to navigate the challenges of being a wife, as she tries to discover her own path, find her voice and identity to express herself freely; even as expectations are imposed by society with regard to her marital life. Sanya Malhotra has bagged the 'Best Actress' award for her performance in the film at the 2024 New York Indian Film Festival. [2]

The film premiered at the 2023 Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. [3] The teaser of the film was unveiled in November 2023. The film was selected as the closing film at the 2024 New York Indian Film Festival, where Arati Kadav was also nominated for the Best Director category.

Plot

Richa who is a trained dancer and dance teacher, marries Diwakar, a wealthy doctor. But after marriage she has to live up to typical expectations of a wife. She has to navigate through her dreams and meet societal expectations of exceeding in cooking a variety of food items every day. [4]
