Mohammad Taqi Kandi ( Persian: محمدتقي كندي) [a] is a village in, and the capital of, Angut-e Sharqi Rural District of the Central District of Ungut County, Ardabil province, Iran. [4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 671 in 151 households, when it was in the former Angut District of Germi County. [5] The following census in 2011 counted 628 people in 184 households. [6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 422 people in 139 households. [2]
In September 2019, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Ungut County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Angut as its capital and only city. [4]
