The snake is found in Brazil and Suriname. [2] It is nocturnal and preys on reptiles and on other vertebrates that resemble snakes. [1] It may be found in forests of the Amazon basin up to 400 metres (1,300 ft) above sea level, including disturbed forests, and in and around settlements. [1]
